Flight Safety Information December 29, 2010 - No. 267 In This Issue Flight from O'Hare runs off runway in Wyoming Flight from O'Hare runs off runway in Wyoming An American Airlines 757 jetliner from Chicago ran off the runway today at an airport in Jackson, Wyo., after it landed there, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. No one was hurt. American Flight No. 2253 -- carrying 175 passengers and six crew members -- arrived at Jackson Hole Airport from O'Hare International Airport shortly before 1 p.m. central time. Officials said the passengers got off the plane via air stairs and were taken by bus to the terminal. "American Airlines is in direct contact with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration," the airline said this afternoon in a prepared statement. "American Airlines will not speculate as to possible causes of the incident." Janice Altman, who lives near the airport, says the plane slid into an area of deep snow.
